Whether you are an aspiring leader, an up and coming leader, or an established leader, there is always something that you can improve on. The easiest way to improve yourself is through feedback. There are two ways to get feedback:
- Seek feedback from colleagues, direct reports, and supervisors
- Challenge yourself with feedback from within. Truly evaluate your strengths and weaknesses and find opportunities where you can improve your performance
Once you have received feedback, do not sulk. It can be challenging to get feedback and not get upset, but great leaders use feedback to set goals for personal improvement and raise the bar. Remember that feedback is a gift, cherish, and then take it an run. Utilizing feedback may be the single strongest way to improve yourself, seek it.
